Cathy Yang is a distinguished erhu virtuoso and a leading Chinese musician on the international stage.

She collaborated with renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma and the National Symphony Orchestra in the premiere of Journey, a new work by Grammy-winning composer Paquito D’Rivera.

She garnered critical acclaim for her performance of Tan Dun’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon Concerto with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, widely hailed as one of the most celebrated classical events of the year.

In 2026, she made her debut with the Seattle Symphony under the baton of Maestro Zhang Xian, performing Iris dévoilée further solidifying her international artistic profile.
